Safe and secure, the Lord is with you!
Psalm 46:1-4
The need for safety is a daily human desire. We all want to be safe and secure in what we do, where we go and where we stay. In the world we live in today, trouble of different kinds is also a reality that sometimes threatens our safety.
It’s from this premise that the Psalmist pens down an ultimate assurance of safety and refuge in God. God is presented as our refuge and strength and a very present help in trouble. God is not only our source of help, but our abiding place in trouble.

1. Ps 46:1. There is Present help from God in the Present trouble! Some times when trouble strikes we tend to think God is far. Well, he is present just when trouble strikes, so you can look to him for help!
2. Ps 46:2. We are not to fear any sort of challenge nature presents to us, the God we serve is Lord over nature.
3. Ps 46:3. Trouble may reach it’s fullest extent, but all of it is subject to God.
4. Ps 46:4. God is a sure dwelling place in the midst of trouble. The peace of God is not known or fully appreciated in the absence of challenges or trial, but it’s known mostly amidst trouble. Peace like a river is promise to those who dwell in the city of God which is the Tabernacle of the most high.
With such great promise in scripture, may we find God our truest sense of safety and refuge. As we live in a troubled world, we can make God our abiding place and find help and strength at all times hence we become safe and secure.
Come what may, God is with you!
