The Dew of Hermon (DOH) is the Youth ministry of the Tabernacle of David Assembly Church. The name Dew of Hermon is derived from Psalm 133:3 “As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
We are dynamic group with a holistic approach to life guided by the maxim “don’t be spiritually useful but socially useless.”
Why Dew of Hermon?
Hermon is well-known for its dew – the water that gathers on the ground overnight. There is always plenty water there. Jerusalem, including Zion where God’s house stood, is in a dry region. Love between God’s people is like dew from Hermon that falls upon Zion
The Alpine Lebanon blesses the minor elevation of the city of David; and so does brotherly love descend from the higher to the lower, refreshing and enlivening in its course. Holy concord is as dew, mysteriously blessed, full of life and growth for all plants of grace. It brings with it so much benediction that it is as no common dew, but as that of Hermon which is especially copious, and far reaching.
We see a need for growing youths who are rooted in the things of God and who will not be shaken by every wind of doctrine. Therefore, our programs are focused on equipping the youths with the word of God.
Notable programs
ROPS – Rites of Passage Camp
A Youth camp aimed at teaching young people from different backgrounds the way of life as they transcend from childhood to adulthood. We believe that youths need to be equipped at every level of growth so that they are able to face and overcome any challenges that may come. The meetings equip young people with the knowledge they need to not only grow in their walk with God but be able to make meaningful impact in their communities.
Saturday Revival
Saturday revival meetings are held from 14:30 to 15:30hrs. We have biblical discourse: from quizzes to teachings, debates and related trainings that equip youths for service. In here the young people have an opportunity to interact with fellow youths and get edified by the word.
The Movement -Youth Service
The movement is a youth service held on the last Sunday of each month, characterized by various ministrations such as dance, drama, music from Zambian gospel artists and preaching of the word. The movement service attracts young people from different churches and seeks to create an environment where young people both saved and unsaved can have an encounter with Jesus Christ and draw closer to him.
